Save time with calculator shortcuts for smart fields
Do you ever use a calculator when you enter invoices in QuickBooks Online? Another little-known shortcut we have is our smart fields, which act as calculators when you enter amounts in QuickBoooks Online.
For example, on an invoice page below, in the amount field, you can enter simple mathematical expressions. The value is calculated when you click outside the field or use the tab button to move your cursor.

The below table lists the simple operations you can use and shows some examples.

This is actually really helpful when there are multiple calculations you need to make before entering the final amount.
I hope you will find this one useful and I will share more in the future.

Okay, that’s really cool. Of course, it would be even cooler if I could turn on a scientific notation option so that order of operations is properly applied, that way I wouldn’t have to bother with going all the way over to hit the parentheses keys.
